When Craftsmanship Meets Creativity

At Ferry & Sons, we’re fortunate to work alongside some of the region’s most talented interior designers, architects and developers. Every project brings its own vision, its own challenges and, often, the opportunity to push the boundaries of what’s possible with natural stone.

While every designer has their own signature style, they all share one thing in common—a desire to create something truly unique. Our role is to help transform those ideas into beautifully crafted reality.

This ongoing project is a perfect example of that collaborative approach.

The designer wanted to celebrate two defining features within the kitchen: the elegant steel detailing throughout the cabinetry and the subtle veining running through the quartz. Rather than allowing these elements to exist independently, the vision was to bring them together within the worktop itself, creating a detail that felt seamless, intentional and completely bespoke.

Working closely with the design team, we developed a series of edge profiles incorporating precision-engineered 3mm brass and stainless steel inlays, delicately sandwiched between sections of stone. Each profile offered a different interpretation of the concept, allowing the designer to explore how light, texture and material could work together to create something truly distinctive.

This was a technique we hadn’t attempted before.

Like many of the most rewarding projects, it required experimentation, precision and a willingness to challenge conventional fabrication methods. We produced a series of prototype samples, refining every detail until both ourselves and the designer were confident we had achieved exactly the right balance.

The result is a beautifully understated feature that enhances the natural beauty of the quartz while subtly tying together the wider design palette. It’s a detail that doesn’t demand attention, but one that reveals itself through craftsmanship, precision and thoughtful design.

This project is currently progressing through its final design stages and will be completed later this year. We look forward to sharing the finished installation and seeing these bespoke details become part of what promises to be an exceptional home.
